John 20:22 - And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

When did the disciples receive the Holy Ghost? John was in the upper room, Luke was not.

The Bible does not say that they received the Holy Ghost at the time that Christ breathed on them; He repeatedly said that "the comforter" (the Holy Ghost) could not come unless He went away. The simplest explanation is that Christ's breathing on them was a precursor or a hint of what was to come, bu obviously not the filling of the Holy Spirit at all.
