Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
This policy explains what information Thy Word is True ("we", "us") collects through
thywordistrue.com, the Thy Word is True: KJV Bible app, and the online features of
our Bible games (The Bible Trivia Game and The Bible Reference Game), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Thy Word is True is based in Hixson, Tennessee, USA.
In Short
- The Bible app works fully without an account. Until you sign in, your highlights, notes, and everything else you
create stay on your device, and we never see them.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or share your information with advertisers.
- You can download everything tied to your account, or delete your account, at any time.
Information You Give Us
- Your account: your email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash), and optionally
your name and a nickname. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, the account
identifier that service assigns you, and, if you choose to share it, your name. With Sign in with Apple you may
share a private relay email address instead of your own.
- What you sync from the Bible app: if you sign in to the app, we store what you create there so
it can appear on your other devices and later on thywordistrue.com: highlights and other marks, notes, bookmarks,
your own cross references, sermons and lessons, reading plan progress, your last reading position, and your
search history in the app.
- Orders from our store: your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number,
and the items you order. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We never receive or store your full card
number. We keep the card type, the last four digits, and the expiration date for our records.
- Things you post: contradictions, solutions, your agree or disagree votes, and product reviews.
Once approved, these are public and show your nickname.
- Messages: what you send through our contact and support forms, and your email address if you
join our mailing list.
Information Collected Automatically
- Sign-ins: when you sign in, we record the time, your IP address, your browser and operating
system, and your screen size (or the device name, in the app). We record failed sign-in attempts the same way,
along with the email address that was tried, to protect accounts from attack.
- Website activity: searches made on the website (the search, the time, your IP address, and
your account if you're signed in), addresses of pages that weren't found, steps reached during checkout, and
standard server logs (IP address, browser, and the pages requested).
- Bible games: a device identifier, the device model, operating system version, and your game
statistics, so your scores and progress can be saved.
- Cookies: we use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your shopping cart, and limit how often
searches can run. We also use Google Analytics (see below).
The Bible app itself does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking code. It does not track you across
other companies' apps or websites.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide what you ask for: your account, syncing your Bible app data, filling orders, publishing your posts,
and answering your messages.
- To send emails about your account and orders, such as confirming your email address, resetting your password,
or shipping updates. We send mailing list emails only if you subscribe, and each one lets you unsubscribe.
- To keep our services secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used so we can improve it.
Who We Share It With
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with
service providers that help us run our services, and only as much as they need:
- Hosting providers, who run the servers and databases that store our data.
- Mailgun, which delivers our emails.
- Stripe and PayPal, which process store payments under their own privacy
policies.
- Google, for Google Analytics, Sign in with Google (if you use it), and the web fonts our pages
load, which means Google receives your IP address when you visit.
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple (if you use it) and purchases in our apps. Apple handles in-app
payments; we don't receive your payment details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect against fraud, or to protect the rights and
safety of our users or others. If Thy Word is True is ever transferred to a new owner, your information would go
with it under the protections of this policy.
Google Analytics
The website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. It records
information such as your browser, device, approximate location, the pages you visit, and items added to the
shopping cart. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with
Google's opt-out browser add-on
or by blocking cookies in your browser.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your account information and synced Bible app data while your account exists. Items you delete in the
app are kept as a deletion marker until your account is deleted, so your other devices remove them too. When you
delete your account:
- your profile, sign-in methods, sign-in history, synced Bible app data, support messages, mailing list
subscription, and cart are deleted;
- your searches and checkout logs are kept without your account or IP address attached;
- order records are kept for bookkeeping and tax purposes, as the law requires;
- things you posted publicly stay on the site, shown as from "Deleted user", unless you ask us to remove them.
Deleted information may remain in backups until those backups are replaced.
Your Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Download your data: sign in and go to
My Account › Your Data to download everything tied to your account as a
file.
- Delete your account: on the same page, or in the Bible app under Settings › Account › Delete
Account.
- Correct your information, or ask us any question about it, by
contacting us.
- Unsubscribe from our mailing list using the link in any mailing.
- Use the Bible app without an account, so your data never leaves your device.
You can also contact us to make any of these requests, or to ask us to
remove things you posted. We will confirm it's you, usually by email, and respond within 30 days. We won't treat
you differently for using these rights.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only as one-way hashes, and store the tokens that keep the
app signed in only in a form that can't be used to sign in. Only people who need access to run our services have
it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects
it, as the law requires.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from
them. A child under 13 can use the Bible app without an account. If you believe a child has given us personal
information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where Your Information Is Stored
We store and process information in the United States. If you use our services from elsewhere, your information
will be transferred to the United States.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is
significant, we will also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
