Terms of Service
Effective October 6, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Thy Word is True ("we", "us"), of Hixson, Tennessee, USA. They cover thywordistrue.com, the Thy Word is True: KJV Bible app, our Bible games, and our store (together, our "services"). By using our services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
1. Who Can Use Our Services
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, please have a parent or guardian review these terms with you. Anyone can read the Bible on our website or in the app without an account.
2. Your Account
Give accurate information when you create an account, keep your password private, and let us know if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from My Account › Your Data or in the app.
3. The Bible Text and Our Materials
The text of the King James Version is in the public domain in the United States. Some reference materials, such as cross references, maps, dictionaries, and commentaries, come from public-domain or openly licensed sources and are credited where they appear. Our software, site design, articles, and the way we've compiled and presented these materials belong to us. You may use our services for personal study, teaching, and ministry. Please don't copy our software or republish our compilations in bulk without permission.
4. Your Content
Your highlights, notes, and other study data are yours. They're private: we store them only to sync them between your devices and to show them to you, as our Privacy Policy describes.
Things you post publicly, such as contradictions, solutions, and product reviews, remain yours, but you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, edit for length or format, and distribute them as part of our services. Posts are reviewed under our Submission Guidelines, and we may decline or remove any post. Only post what you have the right to share.
5. Acceptable Use
Please don't:
- break the law, or harass, threaten, or mislead others;
- post material that is obscene, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours, or interfere with our services;
- use bots or scripts to access our services in a way that burdens them, or use our app's private interfaces outside our apps;
- reverse engineer our apps, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
6. Purchases
Store orders are covered by our Shipping Policy and Return Policy. Prices and availability can change until we accept your order.
Purchases in our apps, such as Pro, are made through Apple's App Store and governed by Apple's terms. Apple handles billing and refunds. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before it renews. Your Bible study data and syncing are never held behind a purchase.
7. Changes to Our Services
We're always working on our services, so features may change, and we may stop offering some of them. If we ever stop offering syncing, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to download your data first.
8. Disclaimers
We work hard to make our services accurate and reliable, but we provide them "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. Commentaries, dictionaries, and other study aids reflect their authors' views, not necessarily ours. We don't promise that our services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost, so please keep your own copy of anything important.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Thy Word is True will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim about our services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law, or post content that infringes someone's rights, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
11. Ending These Terms
You can stop using our services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections 4 (for content already posted), 8, 9, 10, and 12 continue after these terms end.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or our services will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any protections the laws of your home country give you that can't be waived.
13. Apps from the App Store
If you got one of our apps from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and Thy Word is True, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using our services after that, you accept the new terms.
15. Other Terms
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about our services.
