The bishops of North Africa

Church father · 484

In 484 the Arian Vandal king Huneric summoned the Catholic bishops of North Africa, about 460 of them, to a conference at Carthage. Led by Eugenius, bishop of Carthage, they presented a written confession of the Trinity, and were then exiled or sent to forced labour. Victor of Vita, a bishop who lived through it, preserved their confession in his History of the Vandal Persecution.
